Parepare – Penjabat (Pj) Wali Kota Parepare, Abdul Hayat Gani, secara virtual membuka Pelatihan Wasit dan Juri Pencak Silat Tingkat Kota Parepare yang diselenggarakan di Ball Room Hotel Platinum, Jum’at (20/12/2024). Kegiatan ini dihadiri oleh sejumlah tokoh penting di bidang olahraga dan pemerintahan.
Hadir dalam acara ini Sekretaris Umum Ikatan Pencak Silat Indonesia (IPSI) Sulawesi Selatan, DR. Fahrizal, yang juga bertindak sebagai pembawa materi, Ketua Lembaga Wasit Juri IPSI Sulsel Joni Mustari, Ketua Komite Olahraga Nasional Indonesia (KONI) Parepare Fadly Agus Mante, Ketua IPSI Kota Parepare Iskandar Nusu beserta jajaran pengurus, Kepala Dinas Pemuda, Olahraga, dan Pariwisata (Disporapar) Kota Parepare, Kepala Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Kota Parepare, serta sejumlah pejabat lainnya.
Dalam laporan panitia, Ketua IPSI Kota Parepare, Iskandar Nusu, menjelaskan bahwa pelatihan ini bertujuan meningkatkan kapasitas dan kompetensi para wasit dan juri pencak silat, khususnya di tingkat kota. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat melahirkan tenaga profesional yang berintegritas untuk mendukung kemajuan olahraga pencak silat di Parepare.
Pj Wali Kota Parepare, Abdul Hayat Gani, dalam sambutannya memberikan penekanan kepada para peserta pelatihan agar memahami pentingnya keadilan dan objektivitas dalam menjalankan tugas sebagai wasit dan juri. Ia berharap para peserta dapat menerapkan ilmu yang didapat selama pelatihan untuk memajukan pencak silat sebagai warisan budaya bangsa.
“Pelatihan ini adalah langkah strategis dalam mendukung peningkatan kualitas pencak silat di Parepare. Wasit dan juri adalah pilar utama dalam menjaga keadilan dan kualitas kompetisi. Saya mengapresiasi seluruh pihak yang terlibat dalam kegiatan ini,” ujar Abdul Hayat.
Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi titik awal peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia di bidang olahraga pencak silat di Parepare, sekaligus memperkokoh posisi kota ini sebagai salah satu pusat pengembangan olahraga tradisional di Sulawesi Selatan.
