Salah satu pemerhati UMKM, Andiz Pettalolo, yang telah fokus mengamati perkembangan sektor ini sejak 2015, menilai Parepare memiliki potensi besar untuk melahirkan produk dan pelaku usaha yang berdaya saing. Senin, (3/11/25).
“Event-event yang digelar di Parepare pada dasarnya menjadi ruang inkubasi positif bagi teman-teman pelaku UMKM. Seperti halnya inkubasi, perlu dibuat skema pengembangan SDM dan produk agar bisa bersaing di level nasional, atau minimal menjadi top brand di Sulsel,” ujar Andiz.
Ia juga mengapresiasi langkah Pemerintah Kota Parepare melalui program “Parepare Keren” dan Kecamatan Enterpreneurship, yang dinilainya berhasil menumbuhkan semangat wirausaha di kalangan masyarakat.
“Program ini menjadi api semangat untuk memunculkan UMKM yang berdaya saing dan memiliki mentalitas bisnis yang tangguh,” tambahnya.
Lebih jauh, Andiz berharap agar seluruh pemangku kepentingan termasuk pemerintah, pelaku usaha, dan masyarakat dapat terus memperkuat kolaborasi demi memunculkan merek-merek lokal unggulan asal Parepare.
“UMKM Parepare harus tetap kuat dan saling menguatkan. Beri waktu dan dukungan bagi semua pihak untuk berupaya maksimal agar lahir lokal brand yang membanggakan,” harapnya.
Program Parepare Keren sendiri melibatkan puluhan pemateri dan mentor UMKM, yang sebagian besar merupakan putra-putri daerah bersertifikat nasional. Program ini menjadi salah satu prioritas Pemerintah Kota Parepare dalam mencetak pelaku usaha yang kreatif, mandiri, dan siap bersaing di era ekonomi digital.
