Parepare – Perusahaan pelayaran kontainer terkemuka nasional, PT Meratus Group, telah memulai operasinya di Kota Parepare.
Momen bersejarah ini ditandai dengan kedatangan perdana kapal kargo KM Reliance yang bersandar di Pelabuhan Cappa Ujung Parepare pada Sabtu (6/4/2024).
Kapal tersebut kemudian memulai aktivitas bongkar muat barang perdana di Pelindo Multi Terminal Parepare.
Kedatangan KM Reliance disambut langsung oleh Penjabat (Pj) Wali Kota Parepare, Akbar Ali, didampingi oleh Sekda Parepare, Muh Husni Syam, Kepala Dinas Perhubungan Parepare, Fitriany, serta jajaran Pemerintah Kota Parepare.
Turut hadir dalam acara tersebut General Manager Pelindo Cabang Parepare, Sardi, KSOP, dan berbagai stakeholder kepelabuhanan lainnya.
Dalam sambutannya, Pj Wali Kota Parepare, Akbar Ali, mengungkapkan apresiasinya terhadap langkah strategis PT Meratus Group yang memilih Parepare sebagai salah satu titik operasionalnya.
“Kehadiran PT Meratus Group di Parepare diharapkan dapat meningkatkan perekonomian lokal serta membuka peluang kerja baru bagi masyarakat,” ujar Akbar Ali.
Kapal kargo KM Reliance akan melayani rute dari Surabaya dan Palu ke Parepare, membawa barang-barang yang akan dibongkar muat di Pelindo Multi Terminal Parepare.
Aktivitas ini diharapkan dapat memperkuat konektivitas antar daerah dan mendukung distribusi logistik yang lebih efisien.
General Manager Pelindo Cabang Parepare, Sardi, menyatakan bahwa Pelabuhan Cappa Ujung Parepare siap mendukung operasional PT Meratus Group dengan fasilitas dan layanan terbaik.
“Kami berkomitmen untuk memberikan pelayanan optimal agar proses bongkar muat berjalan lancar dan efisien,” kata Sardi.
Kehadiran PT Meratus Group di Parepare merupakan bagian dari upaya perusahaan dalam memperluas jaringan pelayarannya di Indonesia, serta mendukung pertumbuhan ekonomi daerah melalui sektor logistik dan transportasi.
Dengan rute baru ini, diharapkan distribusi barang antar pulau dapat lebih mudah dan cepat, serta memberikan kontribusi positif bagi perkembangan ekonomi Parepare dan sekitarnya.
