Parepare, – Ribuan warga Kota Parepare kembali turun ke jalan untuk menggelar “Pawai Kebahagiaan” dalam rangka menyambut Wali Kota dan Wakil Wali Kota baru, Tasming Hamid dan Hermanto P.
Antusiasme masyarakat begitu besar, terlihat dari banyaknya warga yang berkumpul di perbatasan Kota Parepare dan Kabupaten Barru untuk melakukan penjemputan. Sabtu, (1/3/25).
Setelah dilantik, Tasming Hamid sempat mengikuti retret di Malang, sementara Hermanto P tetap berada di Parepare. Hari ini, keduanya resmi dijemput dan diarak keliling kota dalam sebuah pawai akbar yang diinisiasi oleh masyarakat Parepare.
Rombongan Wali Kota dan Wakil Wali Kota menaiki mobil jip putih milik tokoh masyarakat, Syamsul Latanro (HSL). Dalam perjalanan, mereka ditemani oleh HSL dan Bogart, yang ikut serta dalam iring-iringan kendaraan menuju berbagai titik di Parepare.
Pawai ini menjadi momen bersejarah bagi warga Parepare, terutama setelah sebelumnya, sekitar 800 warga menggelar pawai serupa saat masa jabatan Wali Kota sebelumnya berakhir.
Kala itu, banyak warga yang mengaku kecewa dengan kepemimpinan sebelumnya dan bahkan melakukan ritual “buang sial” dengan membuang berbagai benda yang berhubungan dengan Wali Kota terdahulu. Jum,at, (3/11/23).
Iring-iringan kendaraan yang membawa Tasming Hamid dan Hermanto P menempuh rute yang telah ditentukan oleh warga. Sepanjang perjalanan, masyarakat berbondong-bondong berdiri di pinggir jalan, melambaikan tangan, dan menyambut pemimpin baru mereka dengan penuh semangat.
Banyak warga yang mengabadikan momen ini dengan ponsel mereka, mengunggahnya ke media sosial, dan mengungkapkan harapan mereka untuk masa kepemimpinan yang lebih baik.
Pawai ini berakhir di Rumah Jabatan (Rujab) Wali Kota Parepare, di mana acara dilanjutkan dengan kegiatan buka puasa bersama. Kegiatan ini menjadi simbol awal kepemimpinan Tasming Hamid dan Hermanto P, sekaligus ajang silaturahmi antara pemimpin baru dengan masyarakat.
Masyarakat Parepare memiliki harapan besar terhadap kepemimpinan Tasming Hamid dan Hermanto P. Mereka berharap agar Wali Kota dan Wakil Wali Kota baru ini bisa membawa perubahan yang lebih baik, memperbaiki kebijakan yang sebelumnya dinilai kurang efektif, serta lebih dekat dengan masyarakat dalam menjalankan pemerintahan.
“Kami berharap pemimpin baru ini bisa benar-benar mendengar suara rakyat dan bekerja untuk kemajuan Parepare. Kami ingin perubahan nyata dan pemerintahan yang lebih transparan,” ujar seorang warga yang turut serta dalam pawai.
Dengan dimulainya era baru kepemimpinan di Parepare, seluruh masyarakat menanti langkah-langkah konkret dari Wali Kota dan Wakil Wali Kota baru dalam membangun kota yang lebih baik.
