Jakarta – Pemerintah Kota Parepare menerima bantuan mobil perpustakaan keliling pada momentum peringatan Hari Ulang Tahun (HUT) ke-44 Perpustakaan Nasional (Perpusnas) RI dan Hari Buku Nasional. Kegiatan ini berlangsung di Ruang Teater Lantai 2 Perpusnas RI, Jakarta, pada hari Jumat (17/5/2024).
Mobil perpustakaan keliling tersebut diserahkan secara simbolis oleh Wakil Presiden Republik Indonesia, KH Ma’ruf Amin. Bantuan ini diterima langsung oleh Kepala Dinas Perpustakaan Parepare, Ahmad Masdar.
Dalam sambutannya, Wakil Presiden KH Ma’ruf Amin menekankan pentingnya akses terhadap bahan bacaan berkualitas untuk meningkatkan literasi masyarakat, khususnya di daerah-daerah.
“Mobil perpustakaan keliling ini diharapkan dapat mendekatkan masyarakat dengan buku dan informasi yang bermanfaat, sehingga dapat meningkatkan minat baca dan pengetahuan masyarakat di Parepare,” ujar Ma’ruf Amin.
Ahmad Masdar, mewakili Pemerintah Kota Parepare, menyampaikan terima kasih atas bantuan yang diberikan.
“Kami sangat berterima kasih atas perhatian dan bantuan yang diberikan oleh pemerintah pusat. Mobil perpustakaan keliling ini akan sangat bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan layanan perpustakaan, terutama bagi masyarakat yang tinggal di daerah-daerah yang sulit dijangkau,” kata Masdar.
Bantuan ini merupakan bagian dari upaya pemerintah untuk mendorong peningkatan literasi di seluruh Indonesia.
Dengan adanya mobil perpustakaan keliling, diharapkan masyarakat Parepare dapat lebih mudah mengakses berbagai bahan bacaan, termasuk buku-buku pendidikan, ilmu pengetahuan, dan literatur lainnya.
Selain penyerahan mobil perpustakaan, acara tersebut juga diisi dengan berbagai kegiatan lain untuk merayakan HUT ke-44 Perpusnas dan Hari Buku Nasional, termasuk pameran buku, diskusi literasi, dan berbagai workshop yang melibatkan penulis, pustakawan, serta komunitas pembaca.
Peringatan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi momentum untuk terus mendorong minat baca di kalangan masyarakat serta meningkatkan peran perpustakaan sebagai sumber informasi dan pengetahuan yang dapat diakses oleh seluruh lapisan masyarakat.
