notifedia.com, Parepare – Persoalan sampah kembali menjadi sorotan tajam warga Kota Parepare. Dalam agenda reses beberapa hari anggota DPRD baru-baru ini, berbagai keluhan terkait penanganan sampah mencuat dari sejumlah wilayah, mulai dari Kecamatan Soreang, Ujung, Bacukiki, hingga Bacukiki Barat.
Warga mengeluhkan kondisi lingkungan yang semakin tidak terurus akibat lambannya kinerja Dinas Lingkungan Hidup (DLH) dalam menanggulangi persoalan sampah. Tumpukan sampah di berbagai titik kerap dibiarkan berhari-hari, menimbulkan bau tak sedap dan berpotensi menjadi sumber penyakit.
“Sampah menumpuk di pinggir jalan, bahkan dekat area permukiman. Sudah sering dilaporkan, tapi DLH terkesan tutup mata,” ungkap salah satu warga Bacukiki di daerah Bacukiki saat ditemui oleh anggota dewan.
Yang lebih memprihatinkan, pengangkutan sampah yang sebelumnya dilakukan setiap hari, kini hanya dilakukan dua hari sekali, bahkan tak jarang lebih dari itu. Hal ini membuat kondisi tumpukan sampah makin parah dan tidak terkendali.
DLH sendiri berdalih bahwa penurunan frekuensi pengangkutan disebabkan oleh kerusakan sejumlah armada truk sampah. Namun alasan ini justru memicu kekecewaan publik. Warga menilai pemerintah terkesan abai dalam menyelesaikan persoalan yang sudah berlarut-larut ini.
“Sangat disayangkan, di saat pelayanan menurun, kami justru masih dibebankan dengan pungutan biaya kebersihan. Pelayanan tidak maksimal, tapi kewajiban warga tetap ditagih,” ujar seorang warga Kecamatan Ujung.
Anggota DPRD yang melakukan reses menyatakan keprihatinannya atas kondisi ini. Mereka menilai DLH tidak menunjukkan perbaikan signifikan, padahal persoalan sampah merupakan isu mendasar yang seharusnya menjadi prioritas.
Sorotan terhadap DLH bukan hanya menyangkut pengangkutan sampah, tetapi juga lemahnya pengawasan dan edukasi kepada masyarakat soal pengelolaan sampah. Minimnya tempat sampah umum dan kurangnya sosialisasi turut memperparah situasi.
Dengan semakin banyaknya keluhan dari berbagai kecamatan, tekanan terhadap Dinas Lingkungan Hidup pun semakin kuat. Warga berharap, ada langkah nyata dan bukan sekadar janji manis dari pemerintah.
