    Mayat yang awalnya dikira hanya seseorang yang sedang tertidur itu, ternyata sudah tidak bernyawa saat diperiksa lebih dekat oleh warga.

    Kasat Reskrim Polres Parepare, AKP Agus membenarkan kejadian tersebut. Ia menjelaskan bahwa penemuan mayat itu pertama kali dilaporkan oleh warga sekitar yang curiga karena pria itu tidak bergerak dalam waktu yang cukup lama.

    “Awalnya warga mengira korban hanya sedang tidur. Tapi karena terlalu lama tidak bergerak, akhirnya warga mendekat dan curiga korban sudah meninggal. Setelah dicek, ternyata benar korban sudah tak bernyawa. Warga langsung melapor ke Polsek KPN,” ujar AKP Agus kepada awak media.

    Pihak kepolisian yang menerima laporan segera mendatangi lokasi bersama tim kesehatan dari RSUD Andi Makkasau. Proses olah tempat kejadian perkara (TKP) langsung dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi penyebab kematian.

    “Hasil pemeriksaan awal tidak ditemukan tanda-tanda kekerasan. Namun, untuk memastikan, kami bawa jenazah ke rumah sakit guna dilakukan autopsi menyeluruh,” tambah AKP Agus.

    Identitas korban hingga kini belum diketahui. Polisi juga masih menelusuri latar belakang korban dan menghubungi keluarga yang diduga berada di luar Sulawesi. Menurut informasi sementara, anak dari korban dijadwalkan akan tiba di Parepare malam ini untuk membantu proses identifikasi.
