Parepare – Tim Kuliah Kerja Nyata Tematik (KKNT) Universitas Hasanuddin (UNHAS) GEL 112 yang bertugas di Kelurahan Ujung Lare sukses menggelar program penyuluhan bertajuk “Pekarangan Pangan Lestari Dalam Mencegah dan Mengendalikan Stunting”.
Program yang berlangsung dari tanggal 23 Juli hingga 4 Agustus ini, ditujukan untuk para tokoh masyarakat, terutama ibu rumah tangga yang berdomisili di Kelurahan Ujung Lare.
Program ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat, khususnya ibu rumah tangga, tentang pentingnya bercocok tanam yang baik dan benar serta pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan secara optimal untuk menghasilkan pangan berkualitas.
Melalui kegiatan ini, diharapkan masyarakat dapat memperoleh pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang tepat dalam pengelolaan tanaman pekarangan sebagai upaya mencegah dan mengendalikan stunting.
Penyuluhan ini dimulai pada tanggal 23 Juli dengan menghadirkan dua narasumber, yaitu Ibu Nurhaeda, SPt., M.Si dan Bapak Dr. Ir. Abdullah, B, M.M. Mereka menyampaikan materi tentang teknik pengelolaan tanaman pekarangan untuk mencegah dan mengendalikan stunting.
Setelah sesi penyuluhan, peserta diberikan bibit tanaman pekarangan yang difasilitasi oleh Dinas Ketahanan Pangan Kota Parepare. Bibit tersebut dibagikan kepada warga yang hadir sebagai bentuk dukungan langsung dalam pelaksanaan program pekarangan pangan lestari.
Selanjutnya, mahasiswa KKNT UNHAS GEL 112 melakukan monitoring terhadap tanaman yang telah dibagikan. Monitoring ini dilakukan setiap 2-3 hari sekali selama dua minggu setelah penyuluhan, dengan tujuan untuk melihat perkembangan tanaman yang ditanam di pekarangan rumah warga Kelurahan Ujung Lare.
Program ini mendapat sambutan positif dari masyarakat yang antusias mengikuti penyuluhan dan menerima tanaman pekarangan.
Dengan adanya kegiatan ini, diharapkan terjadi peningkatan kesadaran dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam mengelola lahan pekarangan, sehingga dapat membantu mencegah dan mengendalikan masalah stunting di Kelurahan Ujung Lare.
