Aksi ini dilakukan sebagai bentuk protes terhadap aktivitas penambangan yang dilakukan oleh PT. Prima Karya Manunggal (PKM), yang dinilai mengabaikan hak-hak pemilik lahan.
Danres.T, pemilik sah lahan tersebut, mengaku telah berulang kali melaporkan aktivitas tambang yang dilakukan oleh perusahaan tersebut kepada pihak berwenang. Namun, laporan-laporan tersebut tak pernah ditindaklanjuti, dan kegiatan penambangan tetap berjalan tanpa hambatan.
“Kami sudah berulang kali melaporkan pengolahan tambang ilegal di Lakappala, tetapi tidak pernah ditindaklanjuti,” ujar Danres dalam keterangannya.
Danres merasa haknya telah dirampas oleh PT. PKM, yang menurutnya dikelola bersama kelompok tertentu yang memiliki pengaruh kuat. Ia menegaskan bahwa PT. PKM tidak memiliki izin resmi untuk melakukan penambangan di area tersebut.
Meski begitu, lahan miliknya tetap saja dieksploitasi tanpa seizin dirinya sebagai pemilik sah.
Tidak hanya soal pelanggaran hukum, aktivitas tambang ini juga telah memakan korban jiwa akibat insiden longsor di lokasi pertambangan.
Masyarakat setempat pun semakin resah dengan kondisi tersebut. Beredar pula dugaan bahwa beberapa pihak menerima suap dari pelaku tambang yang dikenal memiliki kekuatan finansial besar.
Dengan situasi ini, Danres menyatakan bahwa dirinya bersama keluarga dan sejumlah masyarakat akan segera melakukan aksi unjuk rasa sebagai bentuk perlawanan atas ketidakadilan dan pembiaran yang selama ini terjadi.
“Kami tidak akan diam lagi. Hak kami dirampas, keselamatan masyarakat terancam, dan hukum seakan tak berpihak pada kami,” tegas Danres.
Hingga berita ini diturunkan, belum ada keterangan resmi dari pihak PT. Prima Karya Manunggal maupun instansi terkait mengenai dugaan aktivitas tambang ilegal tersebut.
