Notifedia. Com, PAREPARE – Gedung eks Toko Cahaya Ujung (CU) lama yang berada di Jalan Bau Massepe, Kelurahan Labukkang, Kecamatan Ujung, Kota Parepare dipastikan tak sekadar direhabilitasi. Aset milik Pemerintah Kota Parepare itu dinilai perlu dibangun ulang secara total menyusul kondisinya yang terbengkalai dan tak layak pakai.
Kesimpulan itu merupakan hasil tinjauan lapangan yang dilakukan oleh jajaran Komisi III DPRD Kota Parepare pada Senin, 20 Januari 2024. Dalam kunjungan tersebut, para legislator menyarankan agar bangunan dibongkar total dan digantikan dengan konstruksi baru yang lebih representatif.
“Melihat kondisi fisik bangunan, akan lebih efektif jika dibangun ulang. Kita berharap menjadi pusat kegiatan ekonomi masyarakat,” ujar Ketua Komisi III DPRD Parepare, Hamran Hamdani.
Rencana pembangunan total itu juga sejalan dengan program Pemerintah Kota Parepare yang ingin menjadikan lahan strategis tersebut sebagai pusat Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM). Letaknya yang berada di tengah kota dinilai sangat potensial untuk mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi lokal.
Turut hadir dalam peninjauan tersebut, Wakil Ketua Komisi III Ibrahim Suanda, Sekretaris Komisi Hasyib Hasyim, serta anggota Rudi Najamuddin, Andi Muhammad Fudail, dan Jusvari Genda. Mereka didampingi oleh perwakilan instansi terkait dari lingkup Pemkot Parepare, seperti Dinas Perdagangan, Bidang Aset Badan Keuangan Daerah, Camat Ujung, dan unsur teknis lainnya.
Pemkot Parepare diharapkan segera menindaklanjuti rekomendasi tersebut dengan menyusun perencanaan pembangunan yang matang, termasuk pemanfaatan anggaran secara efisien dan transparan.
