Notifedia.com, PAREPARE – Kota Parepare kembali mencatatkan prestasi membanggakan di tingkat nasional. Dalam pemeringkatan terbaru yang dirilis oleh Universitas Indonesia melalui UI GreenCityMetric Rankings 2024, Parepare berhasil menembus 10 besar kota/kabupaten paling berkelanjutan di Indonesia.
Pemeringkatan ini berdasarkan enam indikator penilaian utama, yaitu:
- Penataan ruang dan infrastruktur
- Energi dan perubahan iklim
- Tata kelola sampah dan limbah
- Tata kelola air
- Akses dan mobilitas
- Tata pamong
Dari penilaian tersebut, Parepare meraih skor 6.115, menjadikannya satu-satunya kota dari Pulau Sulawesi yang masuk dalam daftar prestisius ini. Adapun Kota Kediri kembali menduduki peringkat pertama dengan skor tertinggi sebesar 7.570.
Penjabat (Pj) Wali Kota Parepare, Abdul Hayat Gani, mengapresiasi pencapaian ini sebagai hasil dari kerja sama dan komitmen seluruh pihak dalam membangun kota berkelanjutan.
“Kita bersyukur Parepare menjadi kota paling berkelanjutan. Alhamdulillah Parepare menembus peringkat 10 besar. Parepare menjadi satu-satunya dari Sulawesi,” ucapnya dengan bangga.
Ia juga mengimbau seluruh jajaran Pemkot untuk terus menjaga capaian tersebut dengan bekerja secara terintegrasi dan membuat perencanaan yang matang dalam mendukung pembangunan berkelanjutan.
“Harapannya pasti kita ingin pertahankan atau bahkan kita tingkatkan. Saya kira kita bisa lakukan itu secara bersama-sama,” tambahnya.
Sementara itu, Kepala Bappeda Kota Parepare, Zulkarnaen, menegaskan bahwa ini bukan kali pertama Parepare menerima predikat kota berkelanjutan dari UI GreenMetric.
“Tahun 2022, Parepare berada di urutan keempat dalam bidang pengelolaan energi terbarukan. Dan tahun ini, 8 Oktober 2024, kita kembali masuk sebagai kota berkelanjutan, bahkan menempati peringkat 11 nasional dalam bidang pengelolaan limbah dan sampah,” jelasnya.
Dengan keberhasilan ini, Parepare semakin memperkuat posisinya sebagai kota yang peduli terhadap lingkungan dan pembangunan berkelanjutan, serta memberi contoh nyata bahwa kota kecil pun bisa bersaing secara nasional melalui inovasi, kolaborasi, dan konsistensi.
UI GreenCityMetric merupakan inisiatif dari Universitas Indonesia untuk mengukur komitmen dan kinerja daerah dalam mencapai tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutan (Sustainable Development Goals/SDGs), khususnya terkait aspek lingkungan hidup.
