Parepare, – Ketua Lembaga Swadaya Masyarakat (LSM) Pemuda Karya Merdeka (PAKAR), Tenri Wara, yang juga merupakan mantan Ketua Himpunan Pelajar Mahasiswa Indonesia (HIPMI) Pare periode 2008–2010, menyesalkan dan mengecam tindakan aparat kepolisian dalam menangani aksi demonstrasi masyarakat Tonrangeng dan Mahasiswa yang menolak kebijakan parkir elektronik yang dikelola oleh pihak ketiga.
Menurut Tenri Wara, tindakan represif yang dilakukan oleh aparat terhadap massa aksi yang terdiri dari mahasiswa dan masyarakat merupakan bentuk pelanggaran terhadap prinsip demokrasi dan hak kebebasan berpendapat.Selasa, (4/2/25).
“Sebagai negara demokrasi, seharusnya aparat kepolisian bertindak sebagai pengayom, bukan malah melakukan tindakan yang mencederai hak-hak rakyat dalam menyampaikan aspirasi. Penolakan yang disuarakan masyarakat Tonrangeng bukan tanpa alasan, mereka berhak untuk menolak kebijakan yang dinilai merugikan,” tegasnya.
Aksi protes yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat Tonrangeng dan mahasiswa merupakan bentuk ketidakpuasan terhadap kebijakan parkir elektronik yang dipihakketigakan oleh pemerintah Kota Parepare. Kebijakan ini dianggap menguntungkan segelintir pihak tanpa mempertimbangkan dampak terhadap warga sekitar.
Tenri Wara menilai bahwa pemerintah dan pihak terkait seharusnya melakukan kajian yang lebih komprehensif serta melibatkan masyarakat sebelum mengambil keputusan yang menyangkut kepentingan publik.
“Jika kebijakan ini memang untuk kepentingan masyarakat, maka pemerintah seharusnya transparan dan membuka ruang dialog. Namun yang terjadi justru tindakan represif terhadap mereka yang menolak,” tambahnya.
Sebagai Ketua LSM Pemuda Karya Merdeka, Tenri Wara mendesak agar Kapolres Parepare segera mengevaluasi kinerja aparat yang terlibat dalam penanganan aksi tersebut.
Ia juga meminta pemerintah Kota Parepare untuk meninjau ulang kebijakan parkir elektronik yang dikelola oleh pihak ketiga.
“Kami akan terus mengawal kasus ini dan menuntut pertanggungjawaban dari aparat serta pihak terkait agar tidak ada lagi tindakan serupa yang mencederai demokrasi dan hak masyarakat,” pungkasnya.
Hingga berita ini diterbitkan, belum ada pernyataan resmi dari pihak kepolisian maupun pemerintah terkait tuntutan dan kecaman yang disampaikan oleh berbagai pihak atas penanganan aksi di Tonrangeng.
