Parepare – Dalam agenda reses anggota Dewan Perwakilan Daerah (DPD) RI di Ruang Seduh Cafe, Kota Parepare, Sabtu (2/11/24), salah seorang panelis, Yusuf M.R, meminta agar Pelabuhan Pelindo IV Kota Parepare mendapat perhatian khusus.
Permintaan ini didasari oleh maraknya kasus penangkapan barang haram berupa narkotika yang terjadi di kawasan pelabuhan tersebut.
Pada reses tersebut, Yusuf M.R mengungkapkan keprihatinannya terhadap situasi yang berkembang di Pelabuhan Pelindo IV. Menurutnya, tingginya angka penyelundupan narkotika di pelabuhan menjadi permasalahan serius yang perlu segera ditangani secara menyeluruh oleh pihak berwenang.
“Pelabuhan Pelindo IV seharusnya mendapat perhatian ekstra, mengingat banyaknya kasus penangkapan narkotika yang melibatkan pelabuhan ini. Hal ini tidak hanya merugikan masyarakat Kota Parepare, tetapi juga mengancam generasi muda kita,” ungkap Yusuf.
Menanggapi hal tersebut, A. Abdul Waris Halid, anggota DPD RI yang turut hadir dalam reses bersama konstituennya, menyatakan komitmennya untuk segera berkoordinasi dengan pihak-pihak terkait agar permasalahan ini dapat tertangani dengan efektif.
Menurutnya, keamanan di pelabuhan harus ditingkatkan, terutama dalam upaya mencegah masuknya barang-barang ilegal yang dapat membahayakan masyarakat luas.
“Kami akan segera mengupayakan koordinasi dengan pihak Pelindo IV dan instansi terkait lainnya untuk memastikan bahwa keamanan pelabuhan ditingkatkan. Masalah ini memang perlu perhatian serius, karena menyangkut keselamatan masyarakat kita dari bahaya narkoba,” tegas Abdul Waris Halid.
Lebih lanjut, ia menekankan pentingnya pengawasan terpadu yang melibatkan berbagai pihak, termasuk aparat penegak hukum dan pemerintah daerah, agar pelabuhan Parepare dapat benar-benar bebas dari ancaman peredaran narkotika.
Acara reses ini dihadiri oleh sejumlah konstituen dan berbagai elemen masyarakat yang turut menyampaikan aspirasi mereka kepada A. Abdul Waris Halid.
Dialog yang terjadi menunjukkan besarnya harapan masyarakat terhadap upaya nyata dalam menjaga keamanan dan kesejahteraan lingkungan sekitar pelabuhan.
