Parepare – Kampus Institut Andi Sapada (IAS) Kota Parepare dipenuhi oleh ratusan karangan bunga sebagai bentuk penghormatan dan ucapan duka cita atas meninggalnya tokoh masyarakat yang sangat dihormati, Dr. Ir. H. Faisal Andi Sapada Mappangile, S.E., M.M.
Beliau merupakan mantan Wakil Wali Kota Parepare periode 2013-2018 yang meninggalkan jejak mendalam bagi masyarakat Parepare.
Dr. Ir. H. Faisal Andi Sapada lahir pada 2 Juli 1957 dan wafat pada 5 Juni 2024 di RS. Wahidin, Kota Makassar. Kabar duka ini menyelimuti Kota Parepare dengan kesedihan mendalam.
Sosok yang dikenal ramah dan berdedikasi tinggi ini meninggalkan banyak kenangan indah dan teladan baik bagi masyarakat dan pemerintahan setempat.
Sejak pagi hari, kawasan Kampus IAS mulai dipenuhi dengan karangan bunga yang datang dari berbagai pihak, mulai dari pejabat pemerintah, kolega, hingga masyarakat umum yang ingin memberikan penghormatan terakhir. Karangan bunga tersebut menjadi simbol cinta dan penghargaan atas dedikasi almarhum semasa hidupnya.
Selama masa jabatannya sebagai Wakil Wali Kota, Faisal Andi Sapada dikenal aktif dalam berbagai program pembangunan dan kemasyarakatan. Beliau juga sangat peduli pada sektor pendidikan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat.
Komitmennya dalam memajukan Parepare tidak diragukan lagi, dan kontribusinya di berbagai bidang meninggalkan warisan yang akan terus dikenang.
Rektor IAS, Prof. Dr. H. Bakhtiar Tijjang, SE., MM., MH. menyampaikan rasa kehilangan yang mendalam. “Almarhum Dr. Ir. H. Faisal Andi Sapada Mappangile adalah sosok yang inspiratif bagi kami semua. Dedikasinya di bidang pendidikan dan pemerintahan sangat besar, dan beliau selalu menjadi panutan bagi banyak orang. Kami berdoa semoga beliau mendapat tempat terbaik di sisi-Nya,” ujarnya.
Upacara penghormatan dan doa bersama juga telah diselenggarakan di kampus IAS, dihadiri oleh keluarga, kerabat, rekan kerja, serta masyarakat yang ingin memberikan penghormatan terakhir.
Suasana haru dan penuh duka menyelimuti seluruh rangkaian acara, menandakan betapa besarnya pengaruh dan jasa almarhum di mata mereka yang mengenalnya.
