Parepare – Tim dokter ahli bedah saraf dari Rumah Sakit dr. Hasri Ainun Habibie sukses melaksanakan operasi bedah saraf secara langsung (live brain surgery) terhadap pasien penderita kraniotomi, yaitu kondisi pendarahan dalam otak yang memerlukan bedah kepala. Operasi perdana ini dilakukan pada Rabu, 8 Januari 2025.
Operasi ini menandai tonggak baru dalam layanan kesehatan di Parepare, khususnya dalam penanganan gangguan pada otak melalui bedah saraf. Prosedur tersebut dikoordinasikan oleh dr. Edwin, yang memimpin tim bedah dalam pelaksanaannya.
Direktur Rumah Sakit dr. Hasri Ainun Habibie, dr. Mahyuddin Rasyid, Sp.B FINACS FICS, menyampaikan bahwa keberhasilan operasi ini sekaligus menjadi pengumuman resmi bahwa layanan bedah saraf di rumah sakit tersebut kini telah beroperasi.
“Apa yang kami lakukan ini untuk menginformasikan kepada masyarakat bahwa layanan baru kami, termasuk bedah saraf, sudah berjalan dengan baik. Live brain surgery ini juga merupakan yang pertama kali dilakukan di Kota Parepare,” ujar dr. Mahyuddin.
Keberhasilan operasi ini membuka harapan baru bagi masyarakat Parepare dan sekitarnya yang membutuhkan layanan medis spesialis di bidang saraf.
Dengan adanya fasilitas ini, warga tidak perlu lagi pergi ke kota-kota besar untuk mendapatkan perawatan bedah saraf.
