Parepare – Penjabat Wali Kota Parepare, Akbar Ali, melalui Sekretaris Daerah Kota Parepare, Muh. Husni Syam, menyampaikan apresiasinya terhadap Kementerian Komunikasi dan Informatika Republik Indonesia.
Penghargaan ini diberikan atas bimbingan dan dukungan yang telah diberikan kepada Pemerintah Kota Parepare sehingga Parepare diusulkan menjadi salah satu daerah yang dianggap mampu menerapkan Smart City pada tahun 2024.
Muh. Husni Syam, Sekda Kota Parepare, menegaskan bahwa penerapan Smart City dan penyusunan Master Plan yang sedang dilakukan merupakan tanggung jawab bersama semua pihak. Tidak hanya Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika, tetapi juga seluruh Organisasi Perangkat Daerah (OPD) dan Badan Usaha Milik Daerah (BUMD) di Kota Parepare turut serta dalam upaya ini.
“Kami harapkan agar semua pihak bekerjasama dalam membangun Smart City di Kota Parepare. Ini bukan hanya tanggung jawab Dinas Kominfo, tapi tanggung jawab seluruh OPD dan BUMD, terutama yang tergabung dalam Dewan Smart City Kota Parepare,” ujar Husni Syam pada Selasa, 11 Juni 2024.
Mantan Kepala Inspektorat Kota Parepare ini menjelaskan bahwa Master Plan merupakan panduan dalam melaksanakan program dan kegiatan untuk mewujudkan Kota Parepare sebagai Smart City.
Dengan masyarakat Parepare yang dikenal cerdas, hal ini menjadi fondasi penting untuk mengembangkan Smart City.
“Pemerintah telah menghadirkan Peraturan Daerah (Perda) untuk mendukung transformasi informasi dan reformasi birokrasi. Dorongan ini menjadi tolok ukur untuk kemajuan yang lebih besar di masa depan,” jelasnya.
Husni Syam juga menekankan bahwa Kota Cerdas bukan hanya tentang teknologi, tetapi juga tentang menciptakan layanan yang dapat meningkatkan kualitas hidup masyarakat.
Oleh karena itu, keterlibatan semua pihak sangat penting agar tujuan bersama dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat dapat tercapai.
“Pada dasarnya, kita membutuhkan teknologi informasi untuk mempermudah dan mempercepat pelayanan kepada masyarakat. Oleh karena itu, kita harus mewujudkan hal tersebut. Kehadiran Smart City ini membuktikan konsistensi kita dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat,” paparnya.
Dengan langkah ini, Kota Parepare menunjukkan komitmennya untuk terus maju dan berkembang, menciptakan lingkungan yang lebih baik dan layanan yang lebih efisien bagi warganya melalui penerapan konsep Smart City.
