Takalar, – Kepala Staf Angkatan Udara (Kasau), Marsekal TNI M. Tonny Harjono, S.E., M.M., memimpin pelaksanaan ground breaking Satuan Radar (Satrad) Takalar, yang bertempat di Kecamatan Mangarabombang, Kabupaten Takalar, Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan, Jumat (11/1).
Acara tersebut turut dihadiri oleh Komandan Lanud (Danlanud) Sultan Hasanuddin, Marsma TNI Bonang Bayuaji G., S.E., M.M., CHRMP., Panglima Komando Operasi Udara (Pangkoopsud) II, Marsda TNI Deni Hasoloan S., serta Komandan Komando Sektor (Dankosek) II, Marsma Arief Hartono, S.H., MNSA.
Dalam kesempatan tersebut, Kasau menjelaskan bahwa pengadaan radar baru di beberapa lokasi, termasuk Kabupaten Takalar, merupakan bagian dari kebijakan strategis pertahanan nasional untuk memperkuat sistem radar TNI Angkatan Udara.
“Pada tahun 2025, TNI AU akan mendapatkan 25 unit radar baru. Sebanyak 13 radar akan menggantikan yang sudah ada, sedangkan 12 unit lainnya akan dipasang di lokasi baru, salah satunya di Kabupaten Takalar,” ungkap Kasau kepada awak media.
Kasau juga menjelaskan bahwa Satrad Takalar dirancang untuk mendeteksi pergerakan pesawat di jalur Alur Laut Kepulauan Indonesia (ALKI), khususnya wilayah ALKI 2.
Dengan radius jangkauan hingga 515 kilometer, radar ini mampu memantau wilayah strategis seperti perairan Selat Makassar, Laut Flores, Selat Lombok, dan Laut Sulawesi.
“Ini adalah bagian dari modernisasi sistem pertahanan udara nasional kita. Radar di Takalar akan memainkan peran penting dalam memantau dan menjaga kedaulatan wilayah udara Indonesia,” tambahnya.
Kasau menegaskan bahwa pembangunan Satrad Takalar diharapkan dapat menghilangkan area blank spot di seluruh wilayah udara Indonesia.
“Harapannya, dengan kehadiran Satrad Takalar ini, seluruh wilayah Indonesia dapat terpantau dengan baik demi menjaga keutuhan Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia,” ujar Marsekal TNI M. Tonny Harjono.
Peletakan batu pertama ini menjadi langkah penting dalam memperkuat sistem pertahanan udara nasional, sejalan dengan visi TNI AU untuk menjaga kedaulatan wilayah udara serta mendukung keamanan nasional.
