Parepare, – Lembaga Pemasyarakatan (Lapas) Kelas IIA Parepare terus berinovasi dengan memberdayakan warga binaannya melalui berbagai program produktif.
Salah satu program unggulannya adalah pemanfaatan lahan kosong di lingkungan Lapas untuk kegiatan pertanian dan budidaya ikan air tawar.
Langkah ini sejalan dengan Asta Cita Presiden Prabowo, khususnya dalam pemberdayaan warga binaan melalui sektor pertanian dan perikanan.
Kepala Lapas Kelas IIA Parepare, Totok Budiyanto, menjelaskan bahwa kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui program Sarana Asimilasi dan Edukasi (SAE). Program ini bertujuan menciptakan pembinaan yang berkualitas dan humanis bagi warga binaan.
“Kami berkomitmen memberikan pembinaan yang tidak hanya berorientasi pada hukuman, tetapi juga pemberdayaan agar mereka siap kembali ke masyarakat dengan bekal keterampilan dan kemandirian,” ujar Totok pada Sabtu (18/1/24).
Program ini mendapat dukungan penuh dari Pemerintah Kota Parepare. Penjabat Wali Kota Parepare, Dr. Abdul Hayat Gani, turut serta dalam kegiatan dengan menanam cabai bersama sejumlah instansi terkait.
Melalui Dinas Ketahanan Pangan dan Dinas Pertanian, Kelautan, dan Perikanan (PKP), Pemkot Parepare menyediakan bantuan berupa bibit cabai, kangkung, terong, pepaya California, serta ikan air tawar seperti nila dan lele sangkuriang untuk mendukung keberhasilan program tersebut.
Selain fokus pada pembinaan, Lapas Kelas IIA Parepare juga aktif dalam aksi sosial. Totok Budiyanto menuturkan bahwa sebagian gaji pegawai Lapas disisihkan untuk menyalurkan bantuan kepada masyarakat yang membutuhkan.
“Baru-baru ini, kami memberikan bantuan kepada guru honorer, petugas kebersihan, panti asuhan, masyarakat terdampak banjir, dan warga sekitar Lapas,” ujarnya.
Sebagai bagian dari pemberdayaan, Lapas juga bekerja sama dengan berbagai pihak untuk memberikan pelatihan keterampilan bersertifikat standar nasional. Pelatihan ini diadakan bersama Balai Pelatihan Vokasi dan Produktivitas (BPVP) Pangkep dalam tiga paket program.
Selain itu, Dinas Tenaga Kerja, Koperasi, dan UMKM Kota Parepare turut mendukung pengembangan soft skill warga binaan.Harapan besar disematkan pada program ini.
“Kami ingin warga binaan yang keluar dari sini tidak hanya sekadar bebas, tetapi juga memiliki kemampuan atau soft skill yang bermanfaat bagi dirinya dan masyarakat,” tutup Totok Budiyanto.
Dengan langkah ini, Lapas Kelas IIA Parepare tidak hanya menjadi tempat pembinaan, tetapi juga menjadi pusat pemberdayaan yang mendukung reintegrasi sosial warga binaan secara positif.
