Parepare, Sulsel – Pemerintah Kota (Pemkot) Parepare terus bergerak dalam menjaga dan memanfaatkan aset daerah agar lebih produktif. Salah satu aset yang menjadi perhatian adalah lokasi eks Toko Cahaya Ujung di Kelurahan Labukkang, Kecamatan Ujung.
Pemkot Parepare berencana menata ulang lokasi tersebut dan mengubahnya menjadi pusat kuliner baru yang bersih dan bermanfaat bagi masyarakat.
“Benar, lokasi itu kita mau tata. Kita ingin aset kita eks Cahaya Ujung ini bisa bersih dan bermanfaat,” ujar Sekretaris Daerah (Sekda) Parepare, Muhammad Husni Syam, Jumat (17/1/2025).
Menurut Husni Syam, rencana ini sejalan dengan upaya Pemkot untuk meningkatkan daya tarik wisata kuliner di Parepare serta mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi lokal.
“Kita ingin tempat ini bisa menjadi salah satu ikon kuliner di Parepare. Selain memberikan manfaat bagi pelaku usaha, juga bisa menjadi destinasi bagi warga dan wisatawan,” tambahnya.
Pemkot Parepare saat ini tengah menyiapkan konsep penataan lokasi agar lebih nyaman dan menarik. Diharapkan, dengan hadirnya pusat kuliner baru ini, kawasan eks Cahaya Ujung bisa kembali hidup dan memberikan dampak positif bagi perekonomian daerah.
Pemerintah juga akan berkoordinasi dengan pihak terkait serta masyarakat sekitar untuk memastikan bahwa proses pengelolaan aset ini berjalan lancar dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan warga Parepare.
