Dalam kesempatan tersebut, jajaran Kodam mengumumkan keberhasilan pengungkapan sindikat penipuan online (Pasobis) dengan modus investasi bodong dan penjualan fiktif.
Hadir dalam konferensi pers tersebut Brigjen TNI Andre Rumatayan (Danrem 141/TP), Kolonel Cpm Imran Ilyas (Danpomdam XIV/Hsn), Kolonel Inf Robinson Tallupadang (Asintel Kasdam XIV/Hsn), dan Kolonel Arm Gatot Awan Febrianto (Kapendam XIV/Hsn).
Brigjen TNI Andre Rumatayan menjelaskan bahwa penggerebekan dilakukan pada Kamis malam (24/4) sekitar pukul 19.30 Wita di Kelurahan Pangkejene, Kecamatan Maritengngae, Kabupaten Sidrap.
Penindakan ini berawal dari laporan masyarakat dan sejumlah anggota TNI yang menjadi korban penipuan.
“Sebanyak 40 orang pelaku berhasil diamankan dalam satu rumah yang dijadikan markas operasional mereka. Selanjutnya para pelaku akan diserahkan kepada pihak kepolisian untuk proses hukum lebih lanjut,” tegasnya.
Sementara itu, Kolonel Inf Robinson Tallupadang memaparkan bahwa sindikat ini menjalankan aksinya tidak hanya di dalam negeri, namun juga menjangkau korban di luar negeri, seperti Malaysia.
“Lokasi berhasil diungkap setelah penyelidikan mendalam oleh tim siber dan intelijen gabungan Kodam XIV/Hasanuddin,” ujarnya.
Kapendam XIV/Hasanuddin, Kolonel Arm Gatot Awan Febrianto menambahkan bahwa praktik penipuan yang dilakukan sangat meresahkan masyarakat.
Modusnya mencakup penawaran investasi palsu dan penjualan barang fiktif secara daring. Dari hasil penyelidikan, para pelaku mengaku bekerja untuk seseorang bernama H. Kasri, yang disebut sebagai bos sindikat dan memberikan komisi sebesar 20 persen dari hasil penipuan.
Dalam penggerebekan tersebut, aparat juga mengamankan sejumlah barang bukti antara lain 144 unit handphone, 5 laptop, 4 buah badik, dan 1 alat cetak resi.
Konferensi pers yang berlangsung hingga pukul 11.20 Wita ini berjalan dengan aman dan tertib.
