Dalam konferensi pers pascalaga, Tavares mengungkapkan bahwa dukungan suporter memainkan peran penting dalam kemenangan tim.
Ia menekankan betapa besar energi tambahan yang diberikan oleh atmosfer stadion ketika para pendukung hadir dan menyuarakan semangat mereka sepanjang pertandingan.
“Di stadion, jika mereka memberikan support seperti ini, tentu saja itu memberikan energi tambahan pada pemain saat mereka bermain,” ujar Tavares.
“Saya berharap dalam perjalanan pulang ke Makassar, semua suporter bisa tiba di rumah dengan aman dan selamat.”
Tavares juga menyoroti permainan timnya secara teknis dan taktis. Ia mengakui bahwa meskipun tim menciptakan banyak peluang dan melakukan sejumlah tembakan ke gawang, masih ada kendala dalam hal akurasi dan keberuntungan, seperti bola yang membentur pemain lawan atau gagal menembus blok pertahanan.
“Kita membuat banyak situasi, melakukan shoot, tapi kadang-kadang shoot ini gagal, kena blok, kena pemain lawan. Akurasi juga menjadi tantangan,” ujarnya.
Pelatih asal Portugal ini menekankan pentingnya sikap dan mentalitas pemain sejak awal laga. Ia mengapresiasi bagaimana para pemain menunjukkan attitude positif dalam dua menit pertama pertandingan, yang menurutnya sangat krusial dalam membangun momentum tim.
“Saya menyukai bantuan segera yang diberikan pemain di awal laga, paling tidak sekitar dua menit pertama. Setelah itu, kita mulai menekan lawan dan menciptakan dua peluang dari corner,” jelas Tavares.
Tavares juga memberikan catatan terhadap beberapa keputusan teknis di babak kedua, di mana ia harus melakukan penyesuaian terhadap kartu kuning yang diterima sejumlah pemain.
Masuknya pemain-pemain baru membawa perubahan positif, meskipun ada fase di mana performa tim menurun sebelum akhirnya mampu mencetak gol kedua.
“Di babak kedua, ada beberapa menit yang saya tidak terlalu suka dari pemain-pemain kita, namun setelah itu kita perbaiki. Menjelang akhir laga, kita mencetak gol kedua dan itu jadi penutup manis,” ucapnya.
Statistik peluang pun menjadi sorotan Tavares. Ia mencatat bahwa dari sisi peluang, PSM memiliki perbandingan yang cukup baik, yakni 6 berbanding 7, meski ia menegaskan kembali bahwa faktor penentu sebenarnya datang dari luar lapangan.
“Saya akan ulangi kembali, energi ekstra yang didapatkan pemain hari ini sangat penting. Dan energi ekstra itu hanya datang dari suporter,” tegasnya.
“Jadi tolong berikan energi ekstra ini lagi di pertandingan selanjutnya.”
Tavares pun menutup pernyataannya dengan ajakan khusus kepada seluruh pendukung PSM Makassar agar terus hadir mendukung tim di pertandingan-pertandingan mendatang.
Ia percaya bahwa dengan semangat dari tribun, para pemain akan mampu memberikan performa terbaik mereka.
