Jeanne Ahmad Rifai resmi menahkodai IMI Parepare sebagai ketua, didampingi Saiful Bahrien sebagai wakil ketua, Firman sebagai sekretaris, dan Dedy Hamid sebagai bendahara. Jajaran pengurus lainnya turut dilantik dalam prosesi tersebut.
Dalam sambutannya, Jeanne menyampaikan rasa syukur dan kebanggaannya atas pelantikan tersebut. Ia menegaskan komitmen IMI Parepare untuk bersinergi dengan Pemerintah Kota Parepare di bawah kepemimpinan Wali Kota Tasming Hamid dan Wakil Wali Kota Hermanto, dalam mewujudkan visi “Terbaik, Sejahtera, dan Maju”.
“Kami sangat mengharapkan dukungan dan bimbingan dari Pemerintah Kota serta pihak Kepolisian dalam menjalankan program-program kami, khususnya dalam pengembangan dunia otomotif, peningkatan keselamatan berkendara, dan edukasi berlalu lintas bagi masyarakat,” ujar Jeanne.
Jeanne juga menegaskan bahwa IMI Parepare akan selaras dengan program-program IMI Sulsel, baik dalam bidang olahraga otomotif maupun kegiatan sosial kemasyarakatan.
“Kami berkomitmen untuk aktif menjalankan program pembinaan otomotif, sekaligus menjadi wadah edukasi yang positif bagi generasi muda,” pungkasnya.
Sementara itu, Ketua Bidang Organisasi IMI Sulsel, Firdaus Deppu, menyebut pelantikan IMI Parepare sebagai momen bersejarah, tidak hanya bagi Kota Parepare, tetapi juga bagi perkembangan otomotif di Sulawesi Selatan. Ia mengungkapkan bahwa IMI Parepare merupakan cabang pertama yang dilantik di wilayah Sulsel.
“Pelantikan ini bukan sekadar seremoni, tapi merupakan tonggak baru dalam peradaban otomotif di Parepare. Kami berharap dari sini akan lahir prestasi-prestasi di dunia balap dan otomotif,” kata Firdaus.
Ia juga menekankan pentingnya peran IMI dalam memberikan edukasi kepada generasi muda agar tidak terjerumus dalam aksi balap liar yang membahayakan.
“Tolong hadirkan program ‘IMI Goes to School’. Ini sebagai langkah konkret untuk mengedukasi adik-adik kita agar memahami pentingnya keselamatan berkendara dan menjauhi balapan liar,” imbuhnya.
Wali Kota Parepare, Tasming Hamid, turut memberikan apresiasi atas terbentuknya kepengurusan IMI Parepare. Ia berharap kehadiran IMI menjadi mitra strategis dalam menciptakan budaya berkendara yang aman dan tertib.
“Selamat kepada pengurus IMI Parepare yang baru saja dilantik. Semoga dapat memberi kontribusi nyata dalam mendukung keselamatan lalu lintas dan edukasi publik, serta berkolaborasi dengan Kepolisian dalam mewujudkan jalan raya yang aman,” ujar Tasming.
Lebih lanjut, Tasming menyampaikan bahwa visi dan program kerja IMI Parepare sejalan dengan salah satu program unggulan Pemerintah Kota Parepare di bawah kepemimpinannya, yakni menghadirkan Sirkuit dan Sport Center, Creative Hub dan Art Center, serta Menjadikan Parepare Kota Event.
