Notifedia.com, Parepare – Kepolisian Resor (Polres) Parepare berhasil menggagalkan penyelundupan narkotika jenis sabu seberat hampir 44 kilogram yang dikemas dalam 44 bungkusan teh Cina. Barang bukti tersebut diamankan dari seorang tersangka berinisial AA di kawasan Pelabuhan Nusantara, Jumat (5/9/2025).
Press release pengungkapan kasus ini digelar di halaman Mapolres Parepare, Kamis (18/9/2025), yang turut dihadiri langsung Wali Kota Parepare, Tasming Hamid.
Kapolres Parepare, AKBP Indra Waspada Yudha, mengungkapkan bahwa kasus ini bermula dari laporan masyarakat terkait dugaan adanya penumpang dari Samarinda yang membawa narkotika melalui kapal KM Aditya.
“Hasil pemeriksaan ditemukan 44 bungkus teh Cina dalam dua karung, setelah diuji laboratorium forensik dinyatakan positif metamfetamin dengan berat total 43.928 gram atau hampir 44 kilogram. Ini merupakan pengungkapan narkotika terbesar sepanjang sejarah Polres Parepare,” jelas Indra.
Indra menambahkan, tersangka AA mengaku dijanjikan Rp2 juta per bungkus, atau total sekitar Rp88 juta untuk membawa barang haram tersebut menuju Parepare. Namun, tersangka tidak mengetahui siapa penerima paket setibanya di Parepare.
“Dari perhitungan, sabu seberat 44 kilogram ini bila dirupiahkan senilai Rp44 miliar dan setara menyelamatkan sekitar 217 ribu jiwa dari bahaya narkoba. Jumlah ini fantastis, karena hampir sama dengan populasi penduduk Kota Parepare,” ujarnya.
Atas perbuatannya, tersangka dijerat Pasal 114 ayat (2) dan Pasal 112 ayat (2) UU Nomor 35 Tahun 2009 tentang Narkotika, dengan ancaman hukuman pidana mati.
Sementara itu, Wali Kota Parepare, Tasming Hamid, memberikan apresiasi tinggi atas capaian Polres Parepare dalam menggagalkan penyelundupan besar-besaran ini.
“Bayangkan, 217 ribu jiwa yang diselamatkan, sementara jumlah penduduk Parepare hanya sekitar 190 ribu. Artinya, ini pencapaian luar biasa. Kami sangat mengapresiasi kerja keras jajaran Polres Parepare,” kata Tasming.
Tasming juga mengimbau masyarakat untuk lebih proaktif memberikan informasi kepada kepolisian bila mengetahui adanya indikasi peredaran narkoba.
“Kita berharap Parepare bisa semakin bersih dari narkoba. Media dan masyarakat harus menjadi mitra aktif kepolisian agar kota kita aman dan generasi muda terbebas dari barang haram ini,” tutupnya.
