Kegiatan prestisius ini diinisiasi oleh Persatuan Perusahaan Air Minum Seluruh Indonesia (Perpamsi) dan mengusung tema “Transformasi Air Minum Menuju Swasembada Air”.
Forum ini menjadi wadah penting untuk membahas tantangan dan solusi strategis di sektor air minum dan pengelolaan limbah domestik di Indonesia.
Wali Kota Tasming Hamid menyampaikan apresiasinya terhadap pelaksanaan IWWEF 2025.
Menurutnya, kegiatan ini menjadi momentum penting dalam mendorong kolaborasi antardaerah dan pemangku kebijakan dalam upaya menjamin ketersediaan akses air bersih yang merata dan berkelanjutan.
“Kami menyambut baik kegiatan seperti ini. Transformasi menuju swasembada air adalah kebutuhan bersama, dan kami di Parepare terus berupaya memperkuat layanan air minum untuk masyarakat,” ungkap Tasming.
Mantan Anggota DPRD dua periode itu mengungkapkan, kehadirannya dalam forum itu menunjukkan komitmen Pemerintah Kota Parepare dalam mendukung agenda nasional serta memperkuat sinergi dengan berbagai pemangku kepentingan demi kesejahteraan masyarakat melalui pelayanan dasar yang berkualitas.
Kegiatan ini juga dihadiri sejumlah tokoh nasional, antara lain Menteri Koordinator Bidang Infrastruktur dan Pembangunan Kewilayahan RI, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono; Menteri Pekerjaan Umum, Dody Hangodo; serta Gubernur DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung.
Direktur Eksekutif Perpamsi, Subekti, dalam sambutannya menjelaskan bahwa IWWEF tahun ini berkolaborasi dengan International Conference on Infrastructure yang diselenggarakan oleh Kementerian Koordinator Bidang Infrastruktur dan Pembangunan Kewilayahan RI.
Subekti menyebut tema “Transformasi Air Minum Menuju Swasembada Air” dipilih karena relevan dengan kebutuhan peningkatan layanan dan akses air minum yang layak serta aman bagi seluruh lapisan masyarakat.
Dia berharap forum ini dapat mendorong inovasi serta perumusan kebijakan yang mendukung penguatan infrastruktur air di Indonesia.
