Sebelumnya telah di laksanakan beberapa kegiatan olehraga seperti, Catur, Tenis meja dan Bulu tangkis hari ini puncak Kegiatan.
Turut hadir para unsur Forkopimda, pengurus PPDI Provinsi Sulsel, PPDI Kota Parepare, YLP2M, serta para siswa dari Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB) Parepare.
Ketua Panitia, Abdi, menjelaskan bahwa kegiatan ini merupakan yang pertama dilaksanakan di Indonesia dalam format khusus simulasi penanganan bencana yang dirancang secara inklusif untuk penyandang disabilitas.
Ia mengungkapkan bahwa pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dapat terwujud berkat kerja sama erat antara Forum Media Parepare dan PPDI Parepare, yang secara mandiri menghimpun anggaran dari kolektifan anggota.
“Ini adalah kegiatan pertama di Indonesia yang benar-benar memfokuskan simulasi kebencanaan secara inklusif bagi penyandang disabilitas. Kegiatan ini terlaksana dari kerja sama panitia Forum Media Parepare dan PPDI, dengan anggaran seadanya dari gotong-royong anggota,” ungkap Abdi.
Ia menegaskan bahwa keterbatasan anggaran tidak menjadi penghalang bagi panitia untuk menghadirkan program yang berdampak besar bagi komunitas disabilitas.
Pada pembukaan acara, Kepala Pelaksana BPBD Parepare, Rasdy Gery, membacakan sambutan resmi Wali Kota Parepare, H. Tasming Hamid. Dalam pesannya, Wali Kota menegaskan bahwa penyandang disabilitas memiliki tempat istimewa di hati pemerintah.
“Saudara-saudaraku penyandang disabilitas bukan sekadar bagian dari masyarakat, tetapi aset dan kekuatan moral bagi kota ini. Parepare harus menjadi kota yang memberikan ruang seluas-luasnya bagi semua, tanpa terkecuali,” demikian amanah Wali Kota yang dibacakan Rasdy Gery.
Ia menekankan bahwa pelatihan mitigasi bencana ini adalah bukti nyata kepedulian pemerintah terhadap kesiapsiagaan seluruh warga, termasuk penyandang disabilitas, mengingat Parepare adalah kota pesisir yang memiliki potensi risiko bencana.
