Notifedia.com, Parepare – Kolam Renang Jompie, yang terletak di Kelurahan Bukit Harapan, Kota Parepare, kini terbengkalai meski telah direhabilitasi pada tahun 2019 dengan menggunakan dana Anggaran Pendapatan dan Belanja Daerah (APBD) di era Wali Kota Taufan Pawe.
Proyek rehabilitasi yang menelan anggaran lebih dari Rp600 juta itu kini tidak dimanfaatkan sebagaimana mestinya, menimbulkan kekecewaan di kalangan warga setempat.
Andi Langkoke, Ketua RW di wilayah tersebut, menyatakan kekecewaannya atas kondisi kolam renang yang mangkrak. “Saya sangat sayangkan sekali karena lima tahun kemarin habis direhab, tapi sampai sekarang tidak digunakan. Biasanya kalau sudah direhab, harusnya bisa dimanfaatkan,” ungkapnya. Senin, (14/4/25).
Menurutnya, sebelum dilakukan rehabilitasi, Kolam Renang Jompie cukup ramai dikunjungi warga, bahkan digunakan untuk pelatihan oleh klub renang.
Keberadaan kolam tersebut juga memberikan dampak ekonomi bagi warga sekitar, terutama pelaku UMKM.
“Sebelumnya banyak pengunjung. Masyarakat bisa berjualan, aktivitas ekonomi tumbuh. Tapi sekarang, kolam itu tidak terurus. Bahkan ada yang berniat menjadikannya kolam ikan atau tempat memancing,” tambahnya.
Kolam renang ini dulunya direncanakan menjadi destinasi wisata dengan standar internasional, sebagaimana dijanjikan oleh wali kota sebelumnya. Namun realisasinya jauh dari harapan.
“Jompie itu ikon kolam renang di Parepare. Tapi habis direhab, tidak ada apa-apa,” tegas Andi Langkoke.
Ia berharap, Pemerintah Kota Parepare melalui dinas terkait bisa segera mengambil langkah nyata untuk menghidupkan kembali destinasi tersebut.
“Tolong diperhatikan. Masyarakat ingin tempat ini bisa kembali dinikmati, bukan hanya untuk rekreasi tapi juga untuk mendongkrak ekonomi warga sekitar,” pungkasnya.
Kolam Renang Jompie kini menjadi simbol dari proyek yang gagal dimanfaatkan, dan warga menunggu komitmen pemerintah untuk mengembalikan fungsinya sebagai destinasi wisata andalan Kota Parepare.
