Notifedia, PAREPARE – Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU) Kota Parepare menggelar konferensi pers penting terkait persyaratan minimal dan penyebaran dukungan bagi calon perseorangan dalam Pemilihan Walikota dan Wakil Walikota Parepare tahun 2024.
Konferensi pers ini berlangsung di Lobi Meeting Room Hotel Kenari Bukit Indah dan dipimpin langsung oleh Ketua Komisioner KPU Kota Parepare, Awal Yanto, yang didampingi oleh para komisioner lainnya.
Dalam konferensi tersebut, Awal Yanto menyampaikan informasi bahwa KPU RI telah mengeluarkan Surat Nomor 605/PL.02.2-SD/05/2024 tentang Persiapan Pencalonan Gubernur, Wakil Gubernur, Bupati, Wakil Bupati, serta Walikota dan Wakil Walikota dalam Pemilihan Serentak 2024 pada tanggal 17 April 2024.
Surat ini menjadi dasar bagi KPU Kota Parepare dalam menetapkan persyaratan bagi calon perseorangan yang ingin mencalonkan diri sebagai Walikota dan Wakil Walikota Parepare.
Awal Yanto menekankan bahwa calon perseorangan harus memenuhi syarat dukungan jumlah penduduk yang memiliki hak pilih dan tercantum dalam daftar pemilih tetap di daerah yang bersangkutan.
Persyaratan tersebut telah diatur dalam Undang-Undang Nomor 10 Tahun 2016. Selain itu, penyebaran dukungan juga harus memenuhi ketentuan bahwa dukungan tersebut tersebar di lebih dari 50% jumlah kecamatan di kabupaten/kota yang bersangkutan.
“Dengan dasar jumlah Daftar Pemilih Tetap pada tahun 2024 sebesar 109.653, maka syarat dukungan minimal yang harus dipenuhi adalah sebanyak 10.966 dukungan, tersebar minimal pada 3 kecamatan,” jelas Yanto.
Konferensi pers ini memberikan pemahaman yang lebih jelas kepada masyarakat tentang proses pemilihan dan persyaratan yang harus dipenuhi bagi calon perseorangan yang ingin mencalonkan diri sebagai Walikota dan Wakil Walikota Parepare tahun 2024.
