Notifedia.com, SIDRAP – Momentum peringatan Hari Kemerdekaan di Kabupaten Sidenreng Rappang dirayakan dengan cara berbeda. Warga binaan Rumah Tahanan (Rutan) Kelas IIB Sidrap mendapatkan hadiah berharga berupa 100 judul buku dengan total 100 eksemplar dari Perpustakaan Nasional (Perpusnas).
Tak hanya itu, Rutan Sidrap juga resmi memiliki Nomor Pokok Perpustakaan (NPP), yang menandai keberadaan resmi perpustakaan rutan sebagai sarana pembelajaran dan peningkatan literasi bagi warga binaan.
Penyerahan bantuan dilakukan langsung oleh Bupati Sidrap, H. Syaharuddin Alrif, bersamaan dengan kegiatan pemberian remisi umum, Kamis (17/8/2025). Bantuan diterima oleh Kepala Rutan Sidrap, Muhammad Syahrir Azis, disaksikan jajaran pejabat terkait.
Dalam sambutannya, Bupati Syaharuddin menyampaikan harapannya agar buku-buku tersebut dapat memperkaya koleksi perpustakaan rutan sekaligus menambah wawasan warga binaan.
“Perpustakaan bukan sekadar tempat menyimpan buku, tapi jendela ilmu. Kami berharap koleksi ini bisa menjadi sumber inspirasi dan motivasi bagi warga binaan untuk terus belajar dan memperbaiki diri,” ujarnya.
Sementara itu, Kepala Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Sidrap, Ahmad Dollah, menjelaskan bahwa layanan perpustakaan keliling rutin digelar setiap Rabu di Rutan Sidrap. Melalui program ini, warga binaan dapat meminjam buku dengan berbagai tema, mulai dari pengetahuan umum, keterampilan, hingga bacaan motivasi.
Menurut Ahmad, program ini sejalan dengan Asta Cita Presiden RI yang menekankan pentingnya peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia (SDM) unggul.
Hal ini juga mendukung prioritas pemerintah daerah dalam mewujudkan pendidikan inklusif dan merata, termasuk bagi warga binaan.
Buku-buku tersebut diharapkan tidak hanya menjadi sarana hiburan, tetapi juga pembelajaran dan penyadaran, agar setelah bebas nanti warga binaan bisa berkontribusi positif di tengah masyarakat.
“Buku adalah jendela dunia, bahkan di balik jeruji. Dengan membaca, warga binaan tidak hanya menatap masa lalu, tetapi juga membuka harapan baru untuk masa depan,” tutup Ahmad Dollah.
