Notifedia.com, PAREPARE — Wali Kota Parepare, Tasming Hamid, secara resmi membuka Pekan Kebudayaan Daerah Kota Parepare sekaligus melepas peserta Pawai Budaya tahun 2025 yang dipusatkan di Alun-Alun Lapangan Andi Makkasau, Jumat (2/5/2025).
Kegiatan tersebut merupakan bagian dari rangkaian peringatan Hari Pendidikan Nasional (Hardiknas) yang dirangkaikan dengan berbagai agenda kebudayaan, menampilkan kekayaan tradisi dan kearifan lokal dari berbagai sekolah di Kota Parepare.
Dalam sambutannya, Tasming Hamid menekankan pentingnya upaya pelestarian budaya di tengah derasnya arus globalisasi dan perkembangan teknologi informasi yang semakin pesat.
“Kegiatan ini menjadi ruang bagi kita semua untuk terus menumbuhkan kecintaan terhadap warisan budaya daerah. Di era modern ini, banyak nilai dan tradisi lokal yang mulai tergerus. Oleh karena itu, kita perlu memiliki mekanisme pertahanan budaya yang kuat,” kata Tasming.
Ia menambahkan, Pekan Kebudayaan Daerah merupakan program tahunan yang rutin digelar Pemerintah Kota Parepare sebagai wujud komitmen menjaga identitas budaya lokal.
“Termasuk yang kita lakukan hari ini. Pekan kebudayaan ini bukan hanya seremoni, tapi juga upaya konkret untuk merawat dan memberdayakan potensi budaya asli yang kita miliki,” ujarnya.
Pawai Budaya yang turut memeriahkan acara tersebut diikuti ratusan pelajar dari tingkat SD dan SMP, mengenakan pakaian adat berbagai daerah di Nusantara, menambah semarak suasana.
Turut hadir dalam kegiatan tersebut jajaran Forum Koordinasi Pimpinan Daerah (Forkopimda), Wakil Ketua DPRD Parepare Suyuti, Kepala Kantor Kemenag Parepare, Sekda Parepare, Kepala Cabang Dinas Pendidikan Wilayah VIII Sulsel, para asisten, staf ahli, kepala OPD, serta para kepala sekolah se-Kota Parepare.
