Makassar – Talenta muda asal Kota Parepare, Sulawesi Selatan, yang dikenal dengan nama R-Ween JR, kembali menorehkan prestasi membanggakan. Pemuda yang dikenal aktif di dunia kesenian ini berhasil meraih juara 2 dalam ajang Lomba Grafitti Yamaha Aerox yang digelar di Vaan In Sky, Kota Makassar, pada Sabtu (15/2/2025).
Kompetisi bergengsi tersebut mempertemukan para seniman mural dan grafitti dari berbagai daerah di Sulawesi Selatan termaksud Sulawesi Tengah Mereka hadir dengan membawa beragam konsep karya yang kreatif dan penuh makna. Ajang ini menjadi wadah bagi anak-anak muda untuk mengekspresikan diri melalui seni jalanan yang kini semakin diakui sebagai bagian dari perkembangan budaya urban.
R-Ween JR dikenal sebagai sosok pemuda yang memiliki kecintaan tinggi terhadap dunia seni, khususnya grafitti. Kiprahnya di Parepare telah menjadikannya figur inspiratif bagi generasi muda. Sejak duduk di bangku sekolah menengah, R-Ween sudah menunjukkan bakat menggambar dinding. Lambat laun, hobinya ini berkembang menjadi sebuah dedikasi, hingga membawanya melangkah lebih jauh ke pentas seni regional.
Dalam wawancara setelah pengumuman pemenang, R-Ween JR mengungkapkan rasa syukur atas pencapaiannya.
“Puji Tuhan, ini pengalaman yang luar biasa. Bisa bersaing dengan seniman-seniman hebat dari berbagai daerah menjadi tantangan tersendiri. Meraih juara 2 adalah bonus, yang terpenting adalah saya bisa menyalurkan karya dan mendapatkan banyak pelajaran baru,” ungkapnya dengan penuh rasa bangga.
Menurut R-Ween, mengikuti lomba seperti ini bukan semata-mata untuk mencari gelar juara, melainkan sebagai bentuk eksistensi seni grafitti yang selama ini kerap dipandang sebelah mata. Ia ingin menunjukkan bahwa grafitti bisa menjadi karya yang indah dan bernilai positif.

“Saya ingin membuktikan bahwa grafitti bukan tindakan vandalisme. Sebaliknya, grafitti adalah seni yang bisa mempercantik lingkungan, menghidupkan ruang-ruang publik, dan menjadi wadah berekspresi bagi anak muda,” ujarnya.
Menariknya, R-Ween JR tidak hanya dikenal sebagai seniman grafitti. Ia juga aktif di dunia musik sebagai rapper dan MC yang sering tampil di berbagai acara di Parepare. Gaya khasnya yang enerjik dan komunikatif membuatnya digemari di kalangan anak muda.
Tak berhenti di situ, R-Ween juga menjajal dunia stand-up comedy. Ia kerap mengisi acara open mic dengan materi-materi segar yang mengangkat kisah keseharian masyarakat Parepare. Hal itu semakin memperkaya identitasnya sebagai seniman multitalenta.
“Seni itu luas. Saya ingin mencoba banyak hal. Musik, komedi, dan grafitti, semuanya adalah cara saya untuk mengekspresikan diri dan menghibur orang lain,” tutur R-Ween dengan senyum lebar.
Keberhasilan R-Ween JR di kancah regional ini diharapkan menjadi pemantik semangat bagi pemuda Parepare lainnya untuk terus berkarya.
