Parepare, – Pemerintah Daerah Kota Parepare melalui Dinas Perumahan, Kawasan Permukiman, dan Pertanahan (PKP) menggelar kegiatan Pasar Tani yang berlangsung di halaman kantor PKP pada Jumat (7/3/25).
Acara ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan akses pasar bagi petani lokal, sekaligus menjaga stabilitas harga bahan pangan di Kota Parepare.
Dalam kesempatan tersebut, Wakil Wali Kota Parepare, Hermanto, turut hadir dan meninjau langsung pelaksanaan Pasar Tani. Ia menyampaikan apresiasi kepada Dinas PKP dan para petani yang berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan ini.
“Pasar Tani ini adalah salah satu upaya nyata pemerintah untuk mendukung petani lokal agar mereka bisa menjual hasil panennya langsung ke masyarakat tanpa melalui perantara. Dengan demikian, harga yang diterima petani lebih baik, sementara konsumen juga mendapatkan produk berkualitas dengan harga lebih terjangkau,” ujar Hermanto.
Pasar Tani menjadi wadah bagi petani lokal untuk memasarkan hasil pertanian mereka, seperti beras, sayur-mayur, buah-buahan, serta produk olahan pertanian lainnya.
Dalam kegiatan ini, berbagai produk dijual langsung oleh para petani dengan harga yang lebih murah dibandingkan di pasaran karena tanpa adanya rantai distribusi panjang.
Kepala Dinas PKP Parepare, Wildana, mengungkapkan bahwa kegiatan ini tidak hanya memberikan keuntungan bagi petani tetapi juga bagi masyarakat luas.
“Kami ingin membangun ekosistem pasar yang sehat, di mana petani dapat menjual produknya dengan harga yang lebih baik, sementara masyarakat mendapatkan akses ke produk segar dan berkualitas. Ini juga bagian dari strategi ketahanan pangan di Parepare,” ujarnya.
Kegiatan Pasar Tani mendapat sambutan hangat dari masyarakat Parepare. Sejak pagi, warga berbondong-bondong datang untuk membeli berbagai hasil pertanian yang dijual langsung oleh petani.
Pemerintah Kota Parepare berkomitmen untuk terus mendukung sektor pertanian dengan berbagai program inovatif.
Selain Pasar Tani, pemerintah juga berencana memberikan pelatihan bagi petani untuk meningkatkan hasil panen dan kualitas produk mereka.
“Kami akan terus berupaya menciptakan kebijakan yang berpihak pada petani dan masyarakat, termasuk dengan memberikan pelatihan tentang teknik pertanian modern dan pemasaran digital,” tambah Hermanto.
Dengan adanya Pasar Tani, diharapkan terjadi peningkatan kesejahteraan petani serta stabilisasi harga pangan di Parepare.
Pemerintah Kota Parepare juga berencana untuk mengembangkan konsep ini menjadi lebih besar dengan melibatkan lebih banyak pihak, termasuk koperasi dan pelaku usaha mikro, kecil, dan menengah (UMKM).
“Kami ingin kegiatan ini tidak hanya menjadi event sementara, tetapi menjadi bagian dari strategi jangka panjang untuk memperkuat perekonomian daerah,” pungkas Wakil Wali Kota Hermanto.
Dengan respons positif dari masyarakat dan petani, diharapkan Pasar Tani menjadi agenda rutin yang dapat terus membawa manfaat bagi seluruh warga Kota Parepare.
