Notifedia, Parepare – Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU) Kota Parepare telah merilis bahwa tidak ada calon perseorangan yang berhasil memenuhi syarat dukungan dalam pemilihan Walikota dan Wakil Walikota Parepare pada pemilihan serentak tahun 2024. Senin, (13/5/24).
Menurut Ketua Komisioner KPU Parepare, Awal Yanto, calon perseorangan dapat mendaftarkan diri sebagai calon Walikota dan Wakil Walikota jika memenuhi syarat dukungan minimal dari jumlah penduduk yang mempunyai hak pilih. Namun, dari ketentuan tersebut, syarat dukungan minimal untuk Kota Parepare adalah 10.966 dukungan dan tersebar minimal di 3 kecamatan.
KPU Kota Parepare telah menetapkan jadwal penyerahan dokumen syarat dukungan pasangan calon perseorangan mulai dari Rabu, 8 Mei 2024, hingga Minggu, 12 Mei 2024.
Layanan bagi masyarakat disediakan melalui Helpdesk Pencalonan Walikota dan Wakil Walikota serta Tim Penyerahan Dukungan Bakal Pasangan Calon yang beroperasi di kantor sekretariat KPU Kota Parepare selama periode tersebut.
Namun, meskipun layanan dan bantuan telah tersedia, tidak ada satu pun bakal pasangan calon perseorangan yang menyerahkan dokumen syarat dukungan ke KPU Kota Parepare.
Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada calon perseorangan yang berhasil memenuhi syarat dukungan untuk bertarung dalam pemilihan Walikota dan Wakil Walikota Parepare tahun 2024.
Dengan demikian, perhatian masyarakat dan pihak terkait kini akan terpusat pada calon dari partai politik yang akan bersaing dalam pemilihan serentak yang akan datang.
