Notifedia.com, SIDRAP — Dalam upaya menjaga stabilitas produksi padi pada Musim Tanam Kedua (MT II) tahun 2025, Bupati Sidenreng Rappang (Sidrap), Syaharuddin Alrif, memimpin langsung kegiatan penyemprotan massal pengendalian organisme pengganggu tanaman (OPT). Kegiatan ini berlangsung di Kelurahan Empagae, Kecamatan Watang Sidenreng, Rabu (9/7/2025).
Penyemprotan massal tersebut digelar bersama PT FMC dengan fokus mengendalikan hama penggerek batang padi (PBP) dan wereng batang cokelat (WBC). Kedua jenis hama ini diketahui berpotensi besar menurunkan hasil panen jika tidak ditangani sejak dini.
“Penyemprotan massal seperti ini penting dilakukan secara berkala, terutama menjelang fase rawan serangan hama. Dengan langkah pencegahan ini, kita berharap hasil panen petani bisa tetap terjaga,” ungkap Syaharuddin saat memulai penyemprotan.
Ia menambahkan, kegiatan tersebut tidak hanya sebagai bentuk pengendalian hama, tetapi juga menjadi sarana pembinaan bagi para petani agar produktivitas pertanian semakin meningkat.
“Semoga penyemprotan massal ini mampu mengatasi hama yang merugikan petani dan menjaga ketahanan pangan daerah,” lanjutnya.
Kegiatan ini turut dihadiri Kepala Balai Pengujian Standar Instrumen Tanaman Serealia Kementerian Pertanian RI, Dr. Amin Nur, Anggota DPRD Sidrap, Tahir Umar, serta Regional Manajer FMC, Muhammad Ade Hermawan.
Hadir pula Kepala Dinas Tanaman Pangan Hortikultura Perkebunan dan Ketahanan Pangan (TPHPKP) Sidrap, Ibrahim, Camat Watang Sidenreng, Arnol Baramuli, jajaran kepala bidang Dinas TPHPKP, serta kelompok tani setempat yang ikut berpartisipasi dalam aksi bersama ini.
Dengan penyemprotan massal tersebut, Pemkab Sidrap berharap produksi padi pada musim tanam kedua tahun ini dapat tetap stabil dan memberi hasil yang maksimal bagi para petani.
