Acara yang digelar meriah ini menjadi ajang unjuk gigi para pembalap berbakat sekaligus bentuk nyata dukungan pemerintah daerah terhadap dunia otomotif.
Bupati Sidrap, Syaharuddin Alrif, yang juga menjabat sebagai Ketua Harian Ikatan Motor Indonesia (IMI) Sulawesi Selatan, secara resmi membuka kejuaraan tersebut.
Dalam sambutannya, beliau menyampaikan apresiasi tinggi kepada seluruh rider, panitia pelaksana, IMI Sulsel, serta IMI Kabupaten Sidrap yang telah bekerja keras menyukseskan acara.
“Saya ucapkan selamat kepada para rider dan seluruh panitia. Terima kasih telah menjadikan kejuaraan daerah motocross ini berjalan sukses. Insya Allah, saya bersiap menyongsong kejuaraan nasional 2025. Kita siap menonton, siap brother! Saya ingin menjadikan Sidrap sebagai lumbung pembalap motocross terbaik di Sulawesi Selatan bahkan Indonesia,” ujar Syaharuddin dengan semangat membara.
Tidak hanya itu, Bupati juga mengumumkan rencana besar ke depan: Kejurnas Motocross dan Kejurnas One Prix yang akan digelar pada bulan Juli 2025 di Puncak Mario, termasuk rencana menghidupkan kembali balap malam di sirkuit Sidenreng Rappang.
Mengakhiri sambutannya, Bupati Sidrap mengajak seluruh yang hadir untuk membaca basmala bersama sebagai tanda dibukanya resmi Kejuaraan Daerah Motocross Seri Kedua Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan, Bupati Cup 2025.
